Dr Amit Sharma is a highly accomplished dental surgeon with over two decades of international experience. As a Principal Dentist at Alaska House—which he leads alongside his wife, Dr Smita Sah—Amit is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care that blends clinical excellence with a gentle and reassuring manner.
Since qualifying in 2005, Amit has remained at the forefront of dental innovation through relentless postgraduate study. After moving from London to Dorset in 2018, he has focused his practice on complex restorative and surgical cases.
Amit is passionate about transforming smiles and restoring function through a “whole-patient” approach. Whether it is a routine check-up or a complex surgical procedure, his focus remains on precision and patient comfort.
“My goal is to treat every patient as an individual, ensuring even the most anxious person feels at ease while receiving world-class clinical care.”
Family life with 2 girls and continuing educational development keep him quite busy. Outside dentistry, he enjoys travelling, paddle boarding, Skiing and cycling.
Dr Smita Sah is the Principal Dentist and partner at Alaska House. Since qualifying in 2005 and practising in London for a decade before moving to Dorset in 2018, Smita has built a reputation for providing gentle, caring, and patient-led care. She is deeply committed to making every patient feel heard and comfortable.
Smita is a highly qualified clinician who believes in continuous learning to provide the best outcomes for her patients.

When she isn’t at Alaska House or finishing her Master’s research, Smita is a busy mum of two. She enjoys art, walking, reading, and skiing. She also shares a love of travel with her husband, Amit, and their daughters.
Dr Camilla Llewellyn graduated from the University of Plymouth: Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry in 2018. Originally from Weymouth, Camilla returned to Dorset after her dentistry degree and now lives in Poundbury.
Camilla has a keen interest in treating patients with dental anxiety, developing rapport and a trusting relationship with each patient.
Camilla carries out oral health intervention in several Dorset schools and nurseries in her spare time and is an advocate of preventative dentistry.
Continuously developing her knowledge and skills, Camilla recently gained her postgraduate degree in Restorative Dentistry with the prestigious Tipton Training. She attends local study clubs in Dorchester. In her free time, Camilla is a fitness fanatic and enjoys travelling!
Ana is a dedicated and compassionate Dental Therapist originally from Curitiba, a vibrant city in the South of Brazil. She began her journey in dentistry there, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS).
After undergoing a rigorous and highly demanding validation process with the General Dental Council in the UK, she successfully achieved her Dental Therapist registration, reflecting her commitment to deepening her professional excellence and patient care.
Ana takes pride in providing personalised care, always striving to meet each patient’s unique needs with a warm and friendly approach. With a smile always on her face, she helps create a comfortable and supportive environment for all patients.
Outside of work, Ana is a proud mother of two grown-up boys and enjoys quality time with her family. She practices meditation to maintain balance in her personal and professional life and has a passion for travelling and exploring new cultures. Ana and her husband love discovering new destinations, and she welcomes recommendations for great spots to visit in the UK!
Nicole was born and raised in Canada until she moved to Devon with her family in 1984.
She has over 30 years experience in healthcare starting as a healthcare assistant before doing her Dental Nurse training with Cardiff Dental School and then going on to study Dental Hygiene Therapy at Cardiff University qualifying in 2003-2004.
In 2010 she volunteered with a Ugandan dental outreach program providing dental care in several remote villages and she has just returned to the U.K. after living and working in the UAE for 8 years.
Her personal interests are travel, photography, cooking and baking.
Vicky is our Dental Hygienist and Therapist. She graduated with BSc (Hons) from the University of Portsmouth in 2010 with a graduation prize for the best periodental case presentation in her clinical finals. Vicky has been a part of the team at Alaska House for 4 years, she is known for her love of the colour pink and has a gentle and friendly approach to treating her patients. Outside of work Vicky enjoys running, live music, festivals and camping in her much loved campervan Billy.
Heather is our long standing member of staff with over 40 years experience in dentistry. She is well known and loved by our patients for her friendly and chatty approach. Heather is Dorset born and bred and outside of work enjoys running. She has completed 6 marathons over the years. Heather has a large family and takes pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren.
Neelam is a dental nurse who qualified in 2020. She is a proud military wife and has a son. She loves baking and in her spare time enjoys camping and strolling round the beautiful countryside with her family and friends.
Qualifications: Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City & Guilds (2015)
Tash qualified as a Dental Nurse back in 2015 at Poole College. She has been working in Dentistry for over 8 years. Tash previously worked in the NHS sector and enjoys general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and has an interest in Implants. She has 2 young children and enjoys spending her free time with them.
Tash is also currently completing her Certificate in Dental Radiography.
Qualifications: NEBDN Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing
Danielle has been a dental nurse for over 8 years and has a special interest in assisting with Implant Surgeries and Cosmetic Dentistry. She loves interacting with the patients and supporting them through different dental treatments.
Danielle is currently completing her Certificate in Dental Radiography and is also trained in phlebotomy, which means she can safely take blood samples when needed to assist with PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrins). Danielle will also be completing her sedation course this year.
In her spare time, Danielle enjoys taking her two Dachshunds on walks, spending time with her family, playing golf and taking photographs of nature (and of her two dogs!)
Jenita, known as Jeni.
Jeni qualified as a dental nurse in 2024 and has been working at Alaska House since July 2025. She truly enjoys working here and finds everyone incredibly friendly and welcoming. She hopes to continue building her skills and experience as a dental nurse and always contributes positively to patient care. Outside of work, Jeni loves spending her spare time gardening and knitting. She has recently got a pet fish that she enjoys watching and caring for.
Devi is an overseas dentist with over ten years of experience, having graduated in 2010 in India. She is currently working as a trainee dental nurse at Alaska House Dental practice. Devi earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Management.
In addition to her work in dentistry, Devi is a certified life coach. Her coaching experience allows her to empower others, fostering personal growth and development among her clients and workshop participants.
Outside of her professional life, Devi pursues creative interests such as blogging, writing, reading books, and cooking. This combination of personal interests enriches her life and enhances her approach to patient care, turning each day into an exciting adventure both personally and professionally.
Michala has over 30 years experience in office administration and reception work, she started at Alaska House in March 22 and enjoys meeting and greeting patients to the practice and working within a great team. In her spare time Michala loves walking with her dog and spending time with friends and family.
Monique, known as Mo, has worked as the receptionist for the practice for over 3 years. She is a mum of 2 and grandmother to 4 gorgeous children. She is a Dorset girl and loves exploring the county and finding new places. On her days off you will find her with her family and friends – she likes cooking and her desserts are loved by all! She loves spending time walking her Lhasa Milo or a sunny day on the beach.
Marina has worked as a dental receptionist for over 20 years. She enjoys meeting people and providing supportive and pastoral services. She is a mother of 2, a grandmother of 4 and recently became a young great-grandmother.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, she also loves travelling, reading, music and is a keen crafter!
Emma has lived and worked in Blandford all her life. She has worked as a receptionist in dentistry for 26 years. She started at Alaska House in June 2021 as a receptionist and then progressed to become our Practice Manager. She loves her job, meeting patients, helping her team and giving great customer service. Outside of work, she has two children and enjoys country life. She has a small holding with a horse, chickens and bees, and she also loves to read.
A Yorkshire lass through and through – Kate enjoys visiting her family in York regularly, it is her favourite city in the World (that she has been to so far!).
Kate has over 20 years of experience in administration and customer care. She is empathetic and likes to listen to and help people.
A proud Mum to two boys – a teenager and pre-teen – she enjoys days out with family & friends, including visiting our lovely local coastal towns and National Trust sites (and getting something nice to eat along the way).
Also a proud cat lady – she has 2 cats called Luna and Bernard.
Kay has worked in Customer Service and Administration for over 20 years. She moved to Blandford with her Husband 12 years ago, and now enjoys exploring Dorsets countryside and beaches at weekends. She also enjoys looking after her two cats, visiting family and cooking in her spare time.
